History of our church

Reformed African Christian Church was established in July 2011. The first service was held at UMlazi. The male congregants than appointed Mr N.L. Sibiya to lead the church. The congregation was made up of people from all walks of life within Durban and surroundings .It grew in numbers that it was inevitable to divide members according to their geographical preferences. This allocation of church members gave the Reformed African Christian Church 9 Circuits, which are as follows :

  • Siyabonga

    located at UMlazi BB Section.

  • Sinethemba

    located at Folweni.

  • Makhutha

    located at KwaMakhutha.

  • Ntokozweni

    located at Ntuzuma/ Lindelani.

  • Osizweni

    located at Sawpits Headquarters (Umbumbulu).

  • Nkanyezi

    located at UMlazi D Section.

  • Ndumisweni

    located at uMlazi B Section.

  • Dwaleni

    located at Umlazi U Section.

  • Lamontville

    located at Lamontville.

Each circuit is led by a Deacon assisted by the circuit leadership. With the church growth it was able to build its mission church structure in Sawpits , Umbumbulu Area. Over the past 12 years with and by the Grace of God, the church now has a Presiding Bishop ,2 Pastors,2 Elders, and 9 Deacons. It is truly by Grace of God that the African Christian Church has come thus far.

MALES

Motto : Peace and Unity, Be with Us.

All Males of the Church fall within this category including the Reverends , Elders ,Deacons, Preachers and all executive members which are led by the Presiding Bishop. They all meet once a quarter to discuss various matters including ways and means of the development, growth , effective and efficient functioning of the church.

MOTHERS

Motto: Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

Women of the church form part of this union, which is led by Lady Presiding Bishop assisted by Lady Reverends, Mother Elders and the women’s executive committee The Mothers Union hold different services during the week particularly on Thursdays for spiritual grooming, growth and praying together as Colossians writes “continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving ” Col 4:2.

Youth

Motto: Flee lusts and pursue faith.

The youth of the church form part of Reformed African Christian Church Volunteers It’s led by a Youth Chairperson together with the youth executive committee for the development & the growth of the youth. The Youth of the church is involved in many things within the church from Church fundraising ,Outreach programs within the church and outside the church, youth entertainment and revival services. The youth of the church is also involved in most functions and activities of the church. The youth is empowered and nurtured with the word of God. Growing in Christ is their pillar.

Sunday School

Motto: Let the little children come to me and do not forbid them for of such is the Kingdom of heaven.

The kids have their own Leadership and executive committee and very dedicated Sunday school teachers who a re determined to instill Gods Word and Gods Will while they are young. Each circuit has its own teachers and learners, every Sunday they are taught Bible, Songs and also being a Christian in the society. TEACH A CHILD TEACH A NATION
